George Mason University Graduate Student Khalil Gary Awarded Fellowship with the NLDI

The National Leadership Development Institute has recently extended the honor of fellowship to Khalil Gary, a George Mason University Student on a mission to bring change to America.

Khalil Gary is a candidate for a master’s degree in public policy with a concentration in National Security. Gary lives by the motto, “with hard work comes excellence.” He shared that the lessons he learned from his mother, faith, and athletics have helped him to make meaningful progress in life.

“It is an honor and privilege to receive this award. We owe it to ourselves to utilize the talents and skills we have to pay it forward and help someone else along the way,” shared Gary. He believes that “The National Leadership Development institute teaches us to aim high in life. It enables us to change lives and revolutionize the thought process.”

Gary holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Hampton University. “One of my greatest privileges has been serving as an intern with the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement (NOBLE) in 2017. It laid the foundation of who I am today!” shared Gary.

As a fellow of the National Leadership Development Institute, Gary’s project is to help with the development of a curriculum for persons serving on or elected to serve on nonprofit boards and committees.
